On the afternoon of April 10th, the second session of the "Chip Classroom Series Science Popularization Lecture" hosted by the Beijing Integrated Circuit Society began. Qi Nan, a researcher of the Institute of Semiconductors of the Chinese Academy of Sciences a professat the University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, was invited as the lecturer to present a science popularization report entitled "Silicon d Optoelectronic Integrated Chip Technology" to the guests audience. Chen Xiaonan, Secretary General of the Beijing Integrated Circuit Society, presided over the event delivered a speech.
ProfessQi Nan mainly introduced high-speed optical interconnect silicon-d optoelectronic integrated chips applied in AI computing data centers, discussed circuit technologies implementation methods such as dedicated drivers, amplifiers, equalizers, clock data recovery, introduced high bwidth data transmission optoelectronic closed-loop optical control in optoelectronic collaborative design, provided typical cases analysis of related circuits chips.
With the miniaturization of microelectronic processes approaching physical limits, the pace of improving integrated circuit performance is gradually slowing down. The dem fdata transmission in AI computing data centers is constantly increasing, with the continuous penetration of optical interconnects short-range applications, new requirements are being put forward ftheir core chips to increase bwidth reduce energy consumption. Silicon d optoelectronic integration technology enables the fabrication of optoelectronic devices on-chip optical circuits using CMOS technology, enabling large-scale production of system level chips. The dedicated circuit of collaborative design not only plays a key role in optical electrical conversion signal transmission reception, but also forms a closed-loop system with new silicon optical devices to achieve control of key optical parameters. According to Yoles statistics, the silicon optical chip market is expected to grow to 613 million US dollars in 2028, up from 68 million US dollars in 2022.
After the science popularization lecture, Beijing Beiinkai Microelectronics Co., Ltd. conducted a product launch. The new generation of IGBT chips independently developed by the company adopts a completely new process, device structure, chip layout, achieving significant performance improvement.
The second phase of the "Core Classroom Series Science Popularization Lecture" has successfully concluded, attracting over 300 attendees from nearly 70 institutions including Yong Microelectronics, Beifang Huachuang, Zhaoyi Innovation, Yisiwei, Chaoxian, Peking University, Beihang University.
